Introduction This project has been created in 31/03/2009 by a group of three researchers who all belong to the J-L24 clade which is an important branch of J2 haplogroup: 1) Albert Aburto see his Blog about J-L24 clade 2) David Ducas see his Blog about J2 Haplogroup 3) Kamel Al-Gazzah. J-L24 Sub_Haplogroup represents approximately 25% of the whole J2 haplogroup What is J-L24 clade ? It is a branch of Human Y DNA Haplogroup J2 characterised by the SNP L24 (rs35248080). L24 is a downstream of J2a4 (according to the actual FTDNA nomenclature) which charterised by the SNP mutation L26 and L27) and previoulsy known as DYS413J<=18. J2a4 is a downstream of J2a which has the SNP mutation M410 J2a is a downstream of J2 which has the SNP Mutation M172.

J Topology from DNA Finger Print Goals
a)
Trace the
roots of J-L24 ancestry and its different clades: estimate the Global TMRCA and
the different clades ones.
b)
Trace the
geographic origin of the J-L24 ancestor.
c)
Trace the
migration modes of the J-L24 from its home land to the different areas where it
is found today
d)
Make the
haplotree of the different haplotypes and evaluate the relatedness of the
different subscales
e)
Try to find
links between the J-L24 spread in the world with historic events and
civilisations (Phoenician, Assyrian, Greek, roman, amazigh, Arab etc.)
f)
Try to find
links between j-l24 expansion waves with eventual other haplogroups. g) Make estimation of J-L24 age in the different world areas How to Join This project is open to all people who belong to J-L24 clade whatever the Analysis company is For Family Tree DNA customers, please click here. For the other companies, we will add soon links to join. Age of J-L24 Clade According to Albert Aburto calculations based on the STR mutations rates and the variances of these markers observed among different J-L24 haplotypes, the age of Most Recent Ancestor of J-L24 is as follows:
So, The TMTCA (Time of Most Recent Ancestor) would be 6000 yeras which correponds to the Bronze Age which came after the Neolithic Age Geographic Origin of J-L24 Ancestor According to TMRCA above, the geographic origin of J-L24 would be the middle East and most probably the Cressent Fertile. Hence more analysis and calculatiosn are required to know in deep about the roots of this clade.
